Vital Diagnostics is pleased to announce the introduction of the following agencies and products to its family, ROTEM^® System from Pentapharm GmbH, Multiplate^® System from Dynabyte Medical GmbH and BioCytex Reagents from BioCytex France.

ROTEM^® delta System from Pentapharm GmbH

ROTEM^® delta is the NEW version of the ROTEM^® Whole Blood Haemostasis Analyser. Ergonomics and analytical resolution set a new standard in Thromboelastometry. The system provides surgeons and anaesthesiologists with optimal patient peri-operative bleeding management which will allow for appropriate blood product usage.

ROTEM^® stands for rotation thromboelastometry^® and is an enhancement of the classical thromboelastography, a powerful technique for the assessment of blood coagulation and fibrinolytic disorders.

ROTEM^® Analysis allows for:

·          Differentiation between surgical bleeding and haemostasis disorders

·          Differential diagnosis and targeted therapy

·          Avoiding unnecessary, inappropriate and expensive use of blood products

Multiplate^® System from Dynabyte Medical

The Multiplate^® analyser is a NEW platelet function analyser utilising the analysis of whole blood. A number of specific and standardised test reagents are available to allow triggering of different receptors/signal transduction pathways of the platelet in order to detect changes induced by drugs or congenital disorders.

The Multiplate^® detects the effects of the platelet inhibitors Asprin®, clopidogrel and GpIIb/IIIa antagonists, and also the newer direct ADP receptor antagonists.

The Multiplate^® analyser is used in a variety of applications:

·          Monitoring of platelet inhibitors: the system shows excellent sensitivity towards the inhibitory actions of Asprin^®, Clopidogrel and GpIIb/IIIa antagonists.

·          Assessment of perioperative platelet function disorders: the ability to analyse blood without time-consuming centrifugation steps makes it possible to test for platelet function in a near-patient environment.

·          Screening for platelet defects: platelet defects like Glanzmann’s Thrombasthenia or the Bernard-Soulier syndrome can be detected directly on whole blood.

·          Platelet function diagnostics in children: due to the low test sample requirement (300ul per test) Multiplate^® analysis is well suited for the evaluation of platelet function in children.

BioCytex Reagents from BioCytex France

BioCytex develops, manufactures and sells diagnostic products used in quantitative flow cytometry. These include a comprehensive line of no wash whole blood flow cytometry kits for the monitoring of antiplatelet drugs (PLATELET VASP/P2Y12), as well as for the diagnosis of platelet disorders (PLATELET Gp/Receptors).
