VitaClot™ SACT
 |
VitaClot SACT is a clotting test for detection of lupus anticoagulant, running in APTT mode on most automated clotting instruments.
VitaClot SACT containing an aluminosilicate mineral which is a faster activator than conventional kaolin clotting methods.
VitaClot SACT is more sensitive to weak LA compared with the current dRVVT and APTT methods.
The reagent is a low turbidity, ready to use liquid reagent. |

VitaClot™ PT
 |
VitaClot PT is a recombinant thromboplastin used for determination of the Prothrombin Time (PT), the INR (International Normalised Ratio) and the activities of factors II, V, VII and X.
VitaClot PT is a “ready to use” liquid reagent with no additional reagent preparation required.
The PT Reagent has a minimum 12 month expiry with good open vial stability.
The ISI is consistently close to 1.0. |

VitaClot™ APTT (LR and LS)
 |
VitaClot APTT reagents can be used for screening of abnormalities in the intrinsic pathway.
VitaClot APTT (Lupus Resistance) contains additional phospholipid for ideal use in factor assays.
VitaClot APTT (Lupus Sensitive) provides a highly sensitive reagent for detection of lupus anticoagulants.
VitaClot APTT (LR and LS):
- The liquid stable reagents are "ready to use", with a long expiry date and an open vial stability of 1 month at 2-8°C.
- The VitaClot APTT LR reagent is pinkish with a white cap.
- The VitaClot APTT LS reagent is greenish with a green cap.
- Calcium Chloride is clear with a red lid.
- The colour coding of the lids and reagents make reagent identification easier.

VitaCal™
 |
VitaCal INR plasmas are lyophilised plasmas intended to assist laboratories carrying out Prothrombin Time (PT) tests for monitoring oral anticoagulant therapy. VitaCal can be used to check the laboratories International Sensitivity Index (ISI) and Mean Normal Prothrombin Time (MNPT) values for reagent / instrument combinations and also allow the direct conversion of Prothrombin Time (PT) results to International Normalised Ratios (INRs).
VitaCal is provided in a lyophilised format and calibrated against International Reference Preparations from National Institute of Biological Standards in London.
Consensus Studies
Each batch of VitaCal is supplied to a range of customers for testing. These results are tabulated and a consensus ISI and MNPT is established. The results are made available to laboratories for them to calculate their ISI or we offer a personalised service of ISI calculation. |

VitaPlas™
 |
VitaPlas coagulation controls are unassayed lyophilised plasmas that laboratories can use to monitor performance of their Prothrombin Time (PT), Activated Partial Prothrombin Time (APTT), and some other tests of haemostatic function.
VitaPlas coagulation controls are coloured lyophilised material with matching coloured caps for easy visual recognition.
Each batch of VitaPlas has good open vial stability and minimum 12 month expiry date.
- VP1 provides a control with normal PT, APTT and Fibrinogen levels
- VP2 is a control that contains slightly abnormal PT and APTT levels with a low fibrinogen
- VP3 is a more “abnormal control” for PT and APTT with a high fibrinogen level.

Collagen Binding Elisa Kit
 |
The Collagen Binding Assay (CBA) is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative determination of von Willebrand Factor function in human plasma. VWF present in the patient plasma binds to collagen coated on the ELISA plate. When used in
conjunction with a VWF Antigen assay, the CBA can distinguish between von Willebrand type 1 and type II.
CBA provides a clear discrimination between type II VWD and normal patients.
The kit reference plasma is cross referenced to the NIBS/SSC reference preparation CS362B. The kit also contains three levels of controls to monitor performance across the dynamic range. The inter well reproducibility is <10%
The assay has been designed for ease of automation with components packaged to ensure complete use of the kit. |

Anti-Cardiolipin IgG and IgM assays
 |
The detection of IgG and IgM anti-cardiolipin antibodies can be useful in aiding the diagnosis of "anti-phospholipid syndrome". This syndrome has been associated with thrombosis, recurrent miscarriage, thrombocytopenia and may be present in some SLE patients.
The kit is a standard 96 well format with "break-apart" strips for ease of use. There are four standards compared to the “Harris Standard” and positive and negative controls.
The kit is easy to automate and has a good shelf life. |
